- 3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, garlic, melted butter, salt, black pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Arrange a layer of sliced sweet potatoes in the baking dish.
- Pour some cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
- Remove foil and continue baking for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let the bake rest for 10 minutes before serving.
