- 500 grams ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 4 sub rolls
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C or heat a skillet over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until just mixed.
- Lightly grease a baking tray or heat olive oil in a skillet.
- Shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs and place them on the tray or skillet.
- Cook the meatballs until browned and fully cooked, then transfer them to a saucepan with tomato sauce, chili powder, and paprika. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Place cooked meatballs into sub rolls, spoon extra sauce over them, and top with shredded cheese.
- Toast briefly until the cheese melts, then serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat mixture to keep meatballs tender.
- Toast the bread lightly to prevent sogginess.
- Adjust chili powder to control spice level.
- Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.
