- 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a deep skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the all purpose flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute.
- Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly until smooth and lump free.
- Let the sauce simmer gently for 4 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir until creamy and fully combined.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss well until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle chopped parsley over the pasta and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest sauce texture.
- Add a splash of pasta water if the sauce becomes too thick.
- Do not boil the sauce on high heat to avoid separation.
- Fresh parsley brightens the creamy flavors beautifully.
