- 1/4 cup grated parmesan

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and place the rack in the lower third of the oven.
- In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add the warm water, melted butter, and 1 tablespoon olive oil, then mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes, cover it, and let it rise for 60 minutes.
- Brush a 9-inch deep dish pan or cast-iron skillet with 1 teaspoon olive oil.
- Press the dough across the bottom and up the sides of the pan, keeping the edges tall and even.
- Layer the sliced mozzarella directly over the dough.
- Add the cooked crumbled Italian sausage over the cheese.
- Mix the crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil, black pepper, and a pinch of salt, then spoon the sauce over the filling.
- Sprinkle the parmesan evenly over the top.
- Bake for 28 to 32 minutes, until the crust is deeply golden and the sauce is bubbling.
- Let the pizza rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
