Description

Cheddar Bay Pepper Jack Shrimp Balls are savory, cheesy, bite-sized appetizers packed with seasoned shrimp, zesty Pepper Jack cheese, and the signature flavor of Cheddar Bay biscuit mix. Perfect for parties or game-day snacking, these shrimp balls are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, and finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups Cheddar Bay biscuit mix (or regular biscuit mix with garlic powder and dried parsley)
  • 1 cup shredded Pepper Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix, Pepper Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into the dry mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped shrimp until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, form mixture into 1.5-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Let cool slightly and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Serve with ranch, remoulade, or spicy aioli for dipping.
  • You can prepare the mixture ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • For a crispier exterior, lightly spray the shrimp balls with oil before baking.
