Description

  • 3 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup prepared custard
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Layer apple slices on top of the batter.
  7. Gently pour custard over the top, spreading it evenly with a spoon.
  8. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until golden and a knife inserted comes out mostly clean.
  9. Let cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
