- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate (chopped or chips, for ganache)
- 2 tablespoons red and pink heart sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until well combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes or until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- To make the ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering. Pour over chopped chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Spoon or pipe ganache onto cooled cookies and top with heart sprinkles.
- Let ganache set for 20–30 minutes before serving.
