Description
Turkish Fries, also known as Turkish Potatoes, are crispy, golden potatoes seasoned with Aleppo pepper, herbs, and garlic for a bold and flavorful twist. They’re perfect as a side dish or snack, served with yogurt or your favorite dipping sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into wedges or thick fries
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Aleppo pepper (or substitute with mild chili flakes)
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano or thyme
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional: plain yogurt or garlic yogurt sauce for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, Aleppo pepper, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper until well coated.
- Spread the potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender inside.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot with a side of yogurt or your preferred dipping sauce.
Notes
- Soaking the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before baking can help achieve extra crispiness.
- You can also air-fry or shallow-fry the potatoes if preferred.
- Aleppo pepper adds mild heat and fruitiness; adjust the quantity based on your spice preference.
