Description

Chewy, buttery toffee blondies packed with rich brown sugar flavor and melty toffee bits. Easy to make in one bowl and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup toffee bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter. Stir in brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Whisk until glossy.
  4. Fold in flour, baking powder, and salt just until combined.
  5. Mix in the toffee bits.
  6. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 22 to 26 minutes until the edges are golden and center is set.
  8. Let cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep blondies tender.
  • For gooier bars, bake until just set in the center.
  • Optional: sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking.
