Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups prepared macaroni and cheese (cooled)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pan, forming a well in the center.
- Spoon the prepared macaroni and cheese into the center well, gently pressing down to compact slightly.
- Cover with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges to enclose the mac and cheese completely.
- In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Optional: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top during the last 5 minutes of baking.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use homemade or boxed mac and cheese—just make sure it’s cooled before stuffing.
- Letting the meatloaf rest helps it slice more cleanly and hold together.
- Can be made ahead and reheated—just cover and refrigerate before baking.
