Description

Juicy ground beef seasoned with Thai-inspired flavors, wrapped in crispy rice paper with fresh basil and dipped in a zesty lime sauce — these Thai Basil Beef Rolls are the perfect handheld bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup Thai basil leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 small red chili, finely chopped
  • 1012 rice paper wrappers
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Set a large skillet over medium heat to preheat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, chopped chili, and green onions. Stir to mix thoroughly.
  3. Heat a small amount of oil in your skillet and keep it hot for pan-frying.
  4. Soften rice paper wrappers one at a time in warm water for a few seconds. Lay flat and add a spoonful of the beef mixture along with Thai basil leaves. Fold in the sides and roll tightly.
  5. Place the rolls seam-side down in the hot skillet. Pan-fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Garnish with more basil or chili if desired.
  7. Serve hot with a dipping sauce made from lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, and chili.

Notes

  • Use fresh Thai basil for the best flavor and aroma.
  • Don’t overstuff the rolls to avoid tearing the wrappers.
  • Let filling cool slightly before assembling for easier wrapping.
  • Make the filling a day ahead and refrigerate to save time.
