Description
Juicy ground beef seasoned with Thai-inspired flavors, wrapped in crispy rice paper with fresh basil and dipped in a zesty lime sauce — these Thai Basil Beef Rolls are the perfect handheld bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup Thai basil leaves
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 small red chili, finely chopped
- 10–12 rice paper wrappers
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Set a large skillet over medium heat to preheat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, chopped chili, and green onions. Stir to mix thoroughly.
- Heat a small amount of oil in your skillet and keep it hot for pan-frying.
- Soften rice paper wrappers one at a time in warm water for a few seconds. Lay flat and add a spoonful of the beef mixture along with Thai basil leaves. Fold in the sides and roll tightly.
- Place the rolls seam-side down in the hot skillet. Pan-fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Garnish with more basil or chili if desired.
- Serve hot with a dipping sauce made from lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, and chili.
Notes
- Use fresh Thai basil for the best flavor and aroma.
- Don’t overstuff the rolls to avoid tearing the wrappers.
- Let filling cool slightly before assembling for easier wrapping.
- Make the filling a day ahead and refrigerate to save time.
