Description

Sweet & Savory Hoisin Beef, Shrimp, and Veggies is a flavorful stir-fry dish combining tender beef, juicy shrimp, and colorful vegetables tossed in a rich hoisin garlic sauce. It’s a quick and satisfying meal perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add beef slices and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining 1 tbsp oil to the skillet. Cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add broccoli, bell pepper, snap peas, and garlic to the pan. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return beef and shrimp to the skillet. Pour in the sauce and toss to coat everything evenly. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until heated through.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Substitute veggies based on what you have—zucchini, mushrooms, or carrots work well.
  • Add extra hoisin or chili sauce for bolder flavor or spice.
