Description

A vibrant and moist strawberry cake layered with a rich cookies ‘n cream icing and topped with a generous Oreo crumble. A show-stopping dessert that combines fruity sweetness with indulgent chocolate cookie flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix (plus ingredients listed on box: eggs, oil, water)
  • 1/2 cup crushed freeze-dried strawberries (optional, for enhanced flavor)
  • 15 Oreo cookies, crushed (for crumble)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (or milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 10 Oreo cookies, finely crushed (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. Prepare the strawberry cake batter according to package directions. Add freeze-dried strawberries if using for more flavor.
  3. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cakes cool completely.
  4. To make the icing, beat butter and cream cheese together until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Add heavy cream a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Fold in the finely crushed Oreos until fully incorporated into the icing.
  6. Frost the cooled cakes with the cookies ‘n cream icing. Sprinkle the Oreo crumble over the top and sides as desired.
  7. Chill for at least 30 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use homemade strawberry cake if preferred.
  • Use freeze-dried strawberries for a stronger, natural strawberry flavor.
