- 1 pound steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized cubes
- 12 ounces elbow macaroni
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Season steak bites with salt, pepper, and a pinch of Cajun seasoning. Toss to coat.
- Add olive oil to the skillet and sear steak bites for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a separate pot, melt butter, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk and cream while whisking until smooth.
- Stir in garlic powder, remaining Cajun seasoning, Parmesan, and cheddar cheese. Mix until melted and creamy.
- Add cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and stir to coat evenly.
- Fold in seared steak bites. Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish if desired.
