Description

Juicy, sizzling prawns tossed in bold Cajun spices and fresh lemon, ready in just 20 minutes for a smoky, spicy seafood delight.

Ingredients

  • Prawns (Large, raw, peeled and deveined): 1 pound
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced): 3 cloves
  • Lemon Juice: Juice of 1 lemon
  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne Pepper: ½ teaspoon
  • Onion Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Dried Oregano: ½ teaspoon
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: ¼ teaspoon
  • Fresh Parsley (chopped): 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Place your skillet over medium-high heat and let it warm up.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, toss the prawns with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, cayenne, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Once the skillet is hot, drizzle a little oil if needed to coat the bottom.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Add the prawns to the skillet in a single layer. Don’t overcrowd, cook in batches if needed.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Sear the prawns for 2–3 minutes per side until they turn pink and slightly curled with a golden crust.
  6. Finishing Touches: Remove from heat, squeeze extra lemon over the top, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve hot over rice, tucked into tacos, or simply with crusty bread to soak up the juices.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the prawns to keep them juicy.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor balance.
  • Cast iron pans give the best sear and flavor depth.
