Description

Sticky, smoky, and fall-off-the-bone tender, these Southern Roadhouse Ribs are a comforting, crowd-pleasing classic with bold Southern flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks pork ribs (about 4 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F and line a large baking sheet with foil.
  2. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Rub the mixture evenly over the ribs.
  3. Place the seasoned ribs on the baking sheet, meat side up. Cover tightly with foil.
  4. Bake the ribs for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.
  5. In a bowl, combine barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and honey.
  6. Remove ribs from oven and discard the foil. Brush the sauce all over the ribs.
  7. Set the oven to broil. Broil the ribs for 5–7 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized.
  8. Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Let the ribs marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Use a basting brush for even sauce coverage.
  • Watch closely while broiling to prevent burning.
