- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes (about 4 medium potatoes)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
- Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix condensed cream of mushroom soup with milk.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.
- Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef and potatoes.
- Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

- For a creamier texture, add a dollop of sour cream before baking.
- Use Yukon Gold potatoes for a buttery flavor and better texture.
- Add chopped green peppers or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
