Description

Crispy, juicy Smash Burger Tacos made with seasoned ground beef pressed onto flour tortillas, seared to perfection, layered with melted cheddar, fresh vegetables, and a creamy burger sauce. A bold and fun fusion that brings burger flavor into taco form.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
  • 8 small flour tortillas (6-inch)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium high heat until hot.
  2. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and chopped dill pickles until smooth to create the burger sauce.
  3. Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions.
  4. Place one tortilla on a flat surface and spread one portion of ground beef thinly over one side, pressing evenly to the edges. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
  5. Place the tortilla beef side down onto the hot skillet and press firmly with a spatula. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned and crispy.
  6. Flip so the tortilla side is down, sprinkle shredded cheddar over the beef, and cook another 1 to 2 minutes until the tortilla is golden and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat and top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced red onion, and a spoonful of burger sauce.
  8. Fold like a taco and serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

  • Press the beef very thin to achieve maximum crispiness.
  • Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Prep the sauce and chop vegetables ahead of time for quicker assembly.
  • Reheat leftovers in a skillet to restore crisp texture.
