Description

Tender, pan-seared scallops served with a bright and zesty lime cilantro sauce—an elegant, flavorful seafood dish that comes together in minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb sea scallops, patted dry
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp lime zest
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional for sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Season scallops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. When hot, add scallops in a single layer. Sear 2–3 minutes per side until golden and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, reduce heat and add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Add lime juice, zest, honey (if using), and cilantro. Stir and simmer for 1 minute.
  6. Return scallops to the pan and spoon sauce over them. Cook 1 more minute to coat and heat through.
  7. Serve immediately with extra sauce spooned on top.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure a good sear on scallops.
  • Pairs well with rice, quinoa, or a simple green salad.
  • Substitute cilantro with parsley if desired.
