Description
Schezwan Paneer Fried Rice is a spicy and flavorful Indo-Chinese dish featuring crispy paneer cubes stir-fried with vegetables, aromatic rice, and a bold Schezwan sauce that adds a perfect kick.

- 1 cup basmati rice, cooked and cooled
- 200g paneer, cubed
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup bell peppers, diced (mix of red, green, yellow)
- 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
- 2–3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Schezwan sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, shallow fry paneer cubes until golden and crisp. Set aside.
- In the same pan, add remaining oil and sauté onions, garlic, and green chilies until fragrant.
- Add diced bell peppers and carrots, stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
- Mix in Schezwan sauce, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add cooked rice and fried paneer to the pan. Toss everything together gently to coat the rice evenly with the sauce.
- Cook for another 3-4 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
Notes
- Use day-old rice for best texture and less clumping.
- Adjust Schezwan sauce quantity to control spice level.
- For a vegan version, substitute paneer with tofu and use vegan sauces.
