Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Yellow Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (melted)
  • 1/3 cup Honey (plus more for drizzling)
  • Flaky Sea Salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using a cast iron skillet, place it in the oven to preheat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and honey until smooth.
  4. Grease your baking dish or hot cast iron skillet.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared dish or skillet and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Drizzle with extra honey and sprinkle with flaky sea salt while warm.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
