- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (melted)
- 1/3 cup Honey (plus more for drizzling)
- Flaky Sea Salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using a cast iron skillet, place it in the oven to preheat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and honey until smooth.
- Grease your baking dish or hot cast iron skillet.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared dish or skillet and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Drizzle with extra honey and sprinkle with flaky sea salt while warm.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
