Description

A hearty pulled beef sandwich featuring tender, slow-cooked beef shredded and mixed with a savory barbecue sauce, served on a soft bun with crisp coleslaw for a perfect balance of flavors and textures.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • Coleslaw for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the beef roast with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  2. Place the beef in a slow cooker with sliced onions, minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and half of the barbecue sauce.
  3. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
  4. Remove the beef and shred it using two forks.
  5. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker, add the remaining barbecue sauce, and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 30 minutes on low.
  6. Toast the sandwich buns lightly.
  7. Assemble the sandwiches by piling the pulled beef on the buns and topping with coleslaw if desired.

Notes

  • Use a good quality barbecue sauce for best flavor.
  • Coleslaw adds a nice crunch and freshness but can be omitted if preferred.
  • Can be made in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 3–4 hours covered, if no slow cooker is available.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
