- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 sandwich buns
- Coleslaw for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Season the beef roast with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Place the beef in a slow cooker with sliced onions, minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and half of the barbecue sauce.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
- Remove the beef and shred it using two forks.
- Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker, add the remaining barbecue sauce, and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 30 minutes on low.
- Toast the sandwich buns lightly.
- Assemble the sandwiches by piling the pulled beef on the buns and topping with coleslaw if desired.
Notes
- Use a good quality barbecue sauce for best flavor.
- Coleslaw adds a nice crunch and freshness but can be omitted if preferred.
- Can be made in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 3–4 hours covered, if no slow cooker is available.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
