Description
Puff Pastry Samosa Chaat is a delightful fusion snack combining crispy puff pastry squares filled with spiced potatoes, topped with tangy chutneys, yogurt, and crunchy sev for an explosion of flavors and textures.

- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying or baking
- 1/2 cup yogurt, whisked
- 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney
- 2 tablespoons mint-coriander chutney
- Sev (crispy chickpea flour noodles) for garnish
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking.
- Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, then sauté onions and green chili until translucent.
- Add mashed potatoes, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let cool.
- Cut puff pastry sheet into 3×3 inch squares.
- Place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center of each square. Fold and seal edges to form triangles or pockets.
- If frying: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry samosas until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
- If baking: Place samosas on a lined baking tray, brush with oil, and bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Arrange samosas on a serving plate, drizzle with yogurt, tamarind chutney, and mint chutney.
- Sprinkle sev and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Notes
- Use store-bought chutneys or homemade for best flavor.
- Adjust spice levels by adding more or less chili.
- Serve immediately for the best crunch.
