Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound thinly sliced ribeye steak
- 12 slider buns
- 1 cup Cheez Whiz
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Lightly grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté the onions and bell peppers until soft and golden, about 7 minutes. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and sear the steak slices in batches for 1–2 minutes per side. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Combine with veggies.
- Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottoms in the baking dish. Layer with steak and pepper mixture, then spoon Cheez Whiz on top. Add top buns.
- Cover with foil and bake for 12–15 minutes until heated through. Remove foil, brush tops with melted butter, and bake uncovered for 3 more minutes.
- Let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Freeze steak slightly for easier thin slicing.
- Use Hawaiian rolls for a slightly sweet flavor balance.
- Add a slice of provolone for extra cheesiness.
