Description

One Pot Kielbasa Pasta is a hearty and comforting dish made with smoky kielbasa sausage, tender pasta, and a creamy, cheesy sauce. It’s the perfect weeknight dinner that comes together quickly with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 14 oz kielbasa sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or your choice)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add kielbasa and cook until browned, about 4–5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  4. Add diced tomatoes (with juice), chicken broth, heavy cream, uncooked pasta, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  6. Return the cooked kielbasa to the pot and stir in the shredded cheddar until melted and creamy.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use smoked or spicy kielbasa depending on your flavor preference.
  • For extra heat, add red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • Swap cheddar for mozzarella or pepper jack for a different twist.
  • Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated on the stovetop with a splash of broth or cream.
