Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup pitted olives (green or black), chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
- 4 small pita breads or 4 slices of baguette
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the mozzarella, Parmesan, cream cheese, chopped olives, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well to form a cheesy filling.
- Slice the pita bread or baguette into halves or quarters, depending on the size of the bread. Brush each piece lightly with olive oil.
- Spread the olive cheese mixture generously over each piece of bread.
- If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for added crunch.
- Place the bread on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley or a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
Notes
- Great for using up leftover bread or pita.
- For an extra kick, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
- You can make these ahead and bake them just before serving for a warm appetizer.
