Description

This No-Knead Bread is the ultimate fuss-free loaf—crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, and made with just a handful of pantry staples. No fancy equipment, no kneading required, just mix, rise, and bake your way to fresh homemade bread that tastes like it came straight from an artisan bakery.


Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, stir together warm water, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms—no kneading required.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the dough and turn it once to coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel, and let rise at room temperature for 2–3 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a Dutch oven (with lid) inside to heat for about 30 minutes.
  5. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a round loaf. Carefully place the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover with lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove lid and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and crackly.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Warm water should be about 110°F—warm to the touch but not hot.
  • If you don’t have a Dutch oven, bake on a baking sheet with a pan of water on the rack below to create steam for a crispy crust.
  • For extra flavor, let the dough rise overnight in the fridge before baking.
