Description

Korean Garlic Cheese Bread is a savory and slightly sweet street food favorite featuring a crispy, buttery bun filled with rich cream cheese and coated in a luscious garlic-butter sauce. Baked to golden perfection, it’s the ultimate comfort snack with a Korean twist.


Ingredients

  • 4 soft round bread rolls (brioche or dinner rolls work well)
  • 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag or plastic bag with the tip snipped off.
  3. Cut each bread roll into 6 wedges (like a flower), making sure not to cut all the way through.
  4. Pipe or spoon the cream cheese mixture generously into the cuts of each bread roll.
  5. In another bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, honey (or sugar), milk, egg, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt to make the garlic butter coating.
  6. Dip each stuffed bread roll in the garlic butter mixture, making sure it’s fully coated. Let any excess drip off.
  7. Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  8. Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for easier mixing and piping.
  • For a stronger garlic flavor, add an extra clove or two of garlic to the butter mixture.
  • You can prepare the cream cheese filling and garlic butter in advance and store them separately in the fridge.
  • Garnish with more parsley or grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
