Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat with a light drizzle of oil.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Set aside.
- While the pan heats up, toss tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Add tofu to the hot pan and cook, turning occasionally, until all sides are golden and crispy.
- Pour the sauce over the crispy tofu. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until it thickens and coats the tofu.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Remove from heat.
- Spoon over warm rice and serve immediately.
Notes
- Press tofu well to remove excess moisture for maximum crispiness.
- To make it vegan, swap honey for maple syrup.
- Reheat leftovers in a skillet or air fryer to keep them crispy.
- Add chili flakes or sriracha for a spicy version.
