Ingredients
- Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts: 4 medium (about 6 ounces each)
- Yukon Gold Potatoes: 4 large, thinly sliced
- Fresh Garlic: 6 cloves, minced
- Heavy Cream: 1 ½ cups
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese: 1 cup
- Shredded Parmesan Cheese: ½ cup
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Black Pepper: ½ teaspoon
- Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
- Italian Seasoning: 1 teaspoon
- Fresh Parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease your baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
- Combine Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Heat olive oil in the skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts on both sides until golden, about 3 minutes per side.
- Assemble the Dish: Remove chicken, layer the sliced potatoes evenly in the skillet, pour in the cream mixture, and place chicken breasts on top. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over everything.
- Cook to Perfection: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake another 15–20 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbling.
- Finishing Touches: Let rest for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
- Serve and Enjoy: Plate with a drizzle of the creamy sauce and enjoy.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for even potato slices.
- Freshly grated cheese melts better than pre-shredded.
- Let the dish rest after baking to thicken the sauce.
