Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened, plus more for filling)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add sugar, eggs, softened butter, vanilla, and salt. Mix in flour gradually to form a dough.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll dough into a rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll both ends inward to meet in the center. Cut into slices and pinch bottoms to form hearts.
- Place rolls in baking dish, cover, and let rise again for 30 minutes. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to make glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Use dental floss to cut clean, even rolls without squishing them.
- Don’t overbake — keep them soft and golden, not dry.
- Shape the hearts by gently pinching the bottom of each sliced roll.
