Description

Hawaiian Teriyaki Burgers are juicy grilled beef patties glazed in sweet teriyaki sauce, topped with grilled pineapple, melted cheese, and fresh veggies on a toasted bun — a tropical twist on the classic burger.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce (plus more for glazing)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
  • 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter (for grilling buns)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix just until combined.
  2. Form into 4 equal patties and refrigerate for 15–30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Grill pineapple rings for 1–2 minutes per side until charred; set aside.
  4. Grill burgers for 4–5 minutes per side or until cooked to desired doneness, brushing with additional teriyaki sauce during the last minute of cooking.
  5. Top each patty with cheese and let it melt slightly.
  6. Toast buns lightly with butter or oil on the grill or pan.
  7. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, lettuce, patty with melted cheese, grilled pineapple, tomato, onion, then top bun. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use Hawaiian sweet rolls for a sweeter bite.
  • Swap beef with ground turkey or plant-based patties if desired.
  • Serve with sweet potato fries or coleslaw for a full tropical meal.
