- 225–250g halloumi cheese, sliced into 1 cm slabs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- Olive oil, for frying
Instructions
- Set your frying pan over medium heat with olive oil and let it heat up.
- Place flour in one bowl, eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
- Pat dry the halloumi slices. Dredge each slice in flour, then dip in egg, and coat with breadcrumbs. Press gently to adhere.
- Fry 2–3 slices at a time for 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges and optional garnish like parsley or chili flakes.
Notes
- Rest the breaded halloumi for 10 minutes before frying for better crunch.
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
- Reheat leftovers in a hot pan or air fryer for best texture.
- Add herbs or spices to the breadcrumbs for variation.
