Description

Creamy baked feta pasta with roasted cherry tomatoes, garlic, and fresh basil. A simple Mediterranean-inspired dish where feta melts into a rich sauce that coats tender pasta.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces dry pasta
  • 7 ounces feta cheese block
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add the cherry tomatoes and garlic cloves to a baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Place the block of feta cheese in the center of the tomatoes so it can soften while baking.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Bake the dish for 30 minutes until the tomatoes burst and the feta becomes soft.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Meanwhile cook the pasta in salted boiling water until tender. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  6. Finishing Touches: Remove the baking dish from the oven and stir the feta and tomatoes together into a creamy sauce. Add the cooked pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Toss everything until evenly coated, sprinkle with chopped fresh basil, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a block of feta instead of crumbled for the creamiest sauce.
  • Reserve pasta water to help emulsify the sauce.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you like gentle heat.
  • Fresh basil should be added right before serving for best flavor.
