Description
Gluten Free Mozzarella Cheese Bites are crispy, golden-brown cheese sticks coated in gluten-free breadcrumbs, perfect as a snack or appetizer. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 mozzarella string cheese sticks, cut into 6 pieces each
- 1/4 cup gluten-free flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 cups gluten-free breadcrumbs (Schar recommended)
- Salt, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Marinara sauce, for serving
Instructions
- Cut mozzarella sticks into 6 pieces each and set aside.
- Prepare three bowls: one with gluten-free flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with water, and one with gluten-free breadcrumbs seasoned with salt.
- Coat each mozzarella piece in flour, then dip into egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. For extra crunch, double-dip by repeating the egg and breadcrumb coating.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the cheese bites in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Drain on paper towels immediately after frying to remove excess oil.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Freeze cheese bites for 30 minutes before frying to prevent cheese from melting too quickly.
- Double coating ensures a crispier exterior.
- Use a thermometer to maintain oil temperature for consistent frying results.
- Can be served as a party appetizer or snack.
