Description

A bold and comforting stir-fry dish featuring juicy shrimp, chewy noodles, and a garlicky, savory sauce with touches of sesame and soy. Quick to prepare and full of flavor.


Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined): 1 pound
  • Garlic (minced): 6 cloves
  • Soy Sauce: 3 tablespoons
  • Oyster Sauce: 2 tablespoons
  • Brown Sugar: 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame Oil: 2 teaspoons
  • Vegetable Oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Egg Noodles (or lo mein): 8 ounces
  • Green Onions (sliced): 3 stalks
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes: 1 teaspoon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat your wok or large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  3. Add vegetable oil to the hot pan, then sauté the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add cooked noodles and pour in the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. Add shrimp back in and stir-fry for another 1–2 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with green onions and red pepper flakes if using. Drizzle with extra sesame oil if desired.
  7. Plate and serve immediately while hot. Optional: garnish with lime or fresh herbs.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for the boldest flavor.
  • Cook shrimp in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding.
  • Toss noodles with a little oil after draining to prevent sticking.
