- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 package phyllo dough (about 16 sheets), thawed
- 1/2 cup melted butter or ghee
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic until soft.

- Brush the baking dish with melted butter. Layer 6 sheets of phyllo, brushing each sheet with butter before adding the next.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly over the phyllo layers.

- Score the top layers into squares or diamonds for easy cutting after baking.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until the phyllo is golden and crispy.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Keep phyllo dough covered with a damp towel to prevent drying while assembling.
- For a richer flavor, use ghee instead of butter.
- Serve with a side of yogurt or salad.
