- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the buttermilk, molasses, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; do not overmix.
- Lightly grease the waffle iron and pour batter onto it, cooking waffles until golden and crisp, about 4-5 minutes per waffle.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or your favorite festive toppings.
Notes
