Description

These Easy Festive Gingerbread Waffles are perfectly spiced and crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, making a delicious holiday breakfast or brunch treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the buttermilk, molasses, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; do not overmix.
  5. Lightly grease the waffle iron and pour batter onto it, cooking waffles until golden and crisp, about 4-5 minutes per waffle.
