Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp za’atar spice blend
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)
- For the Tahini Sauce:
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2–4 tbsp cold water (to thin)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F) or set air fryer to 200°C (390°F).
- Soak potato fries in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
- In a large bowl, toss fries with olive oil, za’atar, cornstarch (if using), and salt.
- Spread fries in a single layer on a baking sheet or place in air fryer basket.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or air fry for 15–20 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Meanwhile, whisk together tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and water until smooth and creamy.
- Serve fries hot with tahini sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Sprinkle extra za’atar on top after baking for a flavor boost.
- Add chopped parsley or pomegranate seeds for garnish.
- You can use sweet potatoes for a slightly sweeter variation.
