Description
Crockpot Dr. Pepper Steak Bites are tender, juicy pieces of beef slow-cooked in a sweet and savory sauce made with Dr. Pepper, garlic, and Worcestershire. This easy, flavorful dish is perfect for busy weeknights or hearty weekend dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs sirloin or stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 can (12 oz) Dr. Pepper (not diet)
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Add the steak bites to the crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together Dr. Pepper, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the steak in the crockpot and stir to coat evenly.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the beef is tender.
- If desired, thicken the sauce by removing the steak bites and whisking in a cornstarch slurry. Cook on high in the crockpot for 10–15 minutes until thickened, then return the steak.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sear the beef in a skillet before adding to the crockpot.
- Use a regular (not diet) Dr. Pepper for proper caramelization and sweetness.
- This dish pairs well with creamy mashed potatoes or buttery noodles.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
