Description

Golden, crispy salmon balls paired with a refreshing and creamy avocado yogurt sauce. A perfect blend of textures and flavors ideal for parties, quick dinners, or healthy snacking.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups canned salmon, drained and flaked
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for frying
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat or preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, garlic powder, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  3. If baking, prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. If frying, prepare a plate lined with paper towels.
  4. Form tablespoon-sized portions into balls. Chill for 10 minutes if too soft.
  5. Fry until golden brown on all sides (6–8 minutes) or bake for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Mash avocado and mix with Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, and a pinch of salt until creamy.
  7. Serve salmon balls with the sauce on the side or drizzled on top.

Notes

  • Chilling the mixture helps hold the shape while cooking.
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for added crunch.
  • Add chili flakes to the sauce for extra heat.
