Description

Creamy Garlic Parmesan Tortellini with Chicken & Broccoli is a rich and satisfying one-pan dish made with tender chicken, cheesy tortellini, and fresh broccoli all coated in a luscious garlic-Parmesan cream sauce. Perfect for a comforting family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 package (20 oz) refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add broccoli and tortellini. Cover and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tortellini is tender and broccoli is bright green and cooked through.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and butter (if using) until melted and sauce is creamy.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet and mix well. Let everything simmer for 2–3 more minutes to heat through.
  7. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use pre-cooked or rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • Frozen broccoli works well—just add a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
  • Add mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes for more flavor.
  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
