Description
Creamy Garlic Parmesan Tortellini with Chicken & Broccoli is a rich and satisfying one-pan dish made with tender chicken, cheesy tortellini, and fresh broccoli all coated in a luscious garlic-Parmesan cream sauce. Perfect for a comforting family dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 package (20 oz) refrigerated cheese tortellini
- 1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra richness)
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
- Add broccoli and tortellini. Cover and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tortellini is tender and broccoli is bright green and cooked through.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and butter (if using) until melted and sauce is creamy.
- Return chicken to the skillet and mix well. Let everything simmer for 2–3 more minutes to heat through.
- Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use pre-cooked or rotisserie chicken to save time.
- Frozen broccoli works well—just add a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
- Add mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes for more flavor.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
