Description

Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, sliced or cubed
  • 1 cup orzo pasta, uncooked
  • 3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then sear in the skillet until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium, melt butter in the same skillet, and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  5. Cook orzo for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan until creamy and smooth. Return chicken to pan and heat through.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best texture and flavor.
  • Toast the orzo slightly for a richer, nuttier flavor base.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice before serving for brightness.
