Description
A cozy one-pan meal featuring tender chicken, creamy orzo, garlic, and Parmesan—perfect for a comforting dinner any night of the week.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, sliced or cubed
- 1 cup orzo pasta, uncooked
- 3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then sear in the skillet until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium, melt butter in the same skillet, and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Cook orzo for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan until creamy and smooth. Return chicken to pan and heat through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best texture and flavor.
- Toast the orzo slightly for a richer, nuttier flavor base.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice before serving for brightness.
