Description

These Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits are soft, cheesy, and packed with garlicky butter flavor—just like the restaurant favorite, but even better homemade.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1 tsp dried parsley (for garnish)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and sour cream. Add to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined—do not overmix.
  6. Drop 1/4-cup mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Meanwhile, mix the melted butter with 1/2 tsp garlic powder and dried parsley.
  9. Brush the warm biscuits with the garlic butter mixture as soon as they come out of the oven.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting and texture.
  • Don’t overmix the dough to keep the biscuits tender.
  • Double the butter topping for extra flavor.
