Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (240 grams) all purpose flour
- 1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (220 grams) light brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup (226 grams) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (340 grams) semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the semi sweet chocolate chips evenly.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing evenly apart.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers are slightly soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Do not overmix the dough to keep cookies tender.
- Remove from the oven when centers look slightly underbaked for soft cookies.
- Chill the dough for 10 minutes if the kitchen is warm.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
