Description

A bold and savory ribeye steak coated in a rich coffee spice rub and finished with silky miso butter that melts into every bite.


Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks, about 300 grams each
  • 2 tablespoons ground coffee
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon white miso paste

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground coffee, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, mix softened butter with white miso paste until smooth.
  3. Lightly oil the hot skillet to prevent sticking.
  4. Pat the steaks dry and press the coffee rub evenly on both sides.
  5. Place steaks in the skillet and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
  6. Remove from heat, top each steak with a spoon of miso butter, and let rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Slice or serve whole, letting the melted butter coat every bite.

Notes

  • Let the steak sit at room temperature before cooking for even results.
  • Use a meat thermometer for precise doneness.
  • Do not skip resting time to keep juices inside.
