Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye steaks, about 300 grams each
- 2 tablespoons ground coffee
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon white miso paste
Instructions
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
- In a bowl, mix ground coffee, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, mix softened butter with white miso paste until smooth.
- Lightly oil the hot skillet to prevent sticking.
- Pat the steaks dry and press the coffee rub evenly on both sides.
- Place steaks in the skillet and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
- Remove from heat, top each steak with a spoon of miso butter, and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Slice or serve whole, letting the melted butter coat every bite.
Notes
- Let the steak sit at room temperature before cooking for even results.
- Use a meat thermometer for precise doneness.
- Do not skip resting time to keep juices inside.
