Description

Soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls filled with rich brown sugar and cinnamon, then topped with a smooth cream cheese frosting that melts into every swirl. Perfect for cozy mornings, brunch gatherings, or whenever you crave something sweet and comforting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk, warm
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until slightly foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the mixture. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
  5. Roll the dough into a 16 by 12 inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface. Sprinkle evenly with packed brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and arrange in the prepared baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly golden on top.
  8. In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Use warm, not hot, milk to avoid damaging the yeast.
  • Do not overbake to keep the rolls soft and tender.
  • For clean slices, use unflavored dental floss to cut the dough log.
