  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable shortening
  • Optional: flaky sea salt or sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Line and chill space: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and clear room in the refrigerator.
  2. Mix filling: In a bowl, beat peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and malleable.
  3. Shape: Scoop and roll into 1-inch balls, placing them on the prepared sheet.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate 30 minutes until firm.
  5. Melt chocolate: Microwave chocolate chips with shortening in 30-second bursts, stirring until silky.
  6. Dip: Using a fork, dip each chilled ball, letting excess drip off, then return to the sheet.
  7. Finish: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt or sprinkles before the chocolate sets, if desired.
