Description

Golden, crispy churros served with a rich chocolate sauce, perfect for an indulgent treat

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour: 1 cup – Forms the structure of the churros and gives them their soft interior
  • Sugar: 2 tablespoons – Adds sweetness to the dough and enhances the golden color
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon – Balances the flavors and enhances sweetness
  • Water: 1 cup – Hydrates the dough to the perfect consistency
  • Unsalted Butter: 2 tablespoons – Adds richness and tenderness to the churros
  • Eggs: 2 large – Provides structure and a light, airy texture
  • Vegetable Oil: For frying – Creates the crisp, golden exterior
  • Cocoa Powder: 2 tablespoons – Infuses the chocolate flavor into the dipping sauce
  • Dark Chocolate: 1/2 cup – Melted for dipping, adding smooth richness

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil. Stir in flour until a smooth dough forms. Let it cool slightly before adding eggs one at a time.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Fit a piping bag with a star tip and fill with dough.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Pipe 4-inch lengths of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Fry churros until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Finishing Touches: Roll churros in sugar while still warm. Melt dark chocolate for dipping.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm with chocolate sauce and watch them disappear in minutes.

Notes

  • Ensure oil is hot enough to prevent soggy churros
  • Pipe dough evenly for uniform cooking
  • Dust with sugar immediately after frying for best adhesion
