- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tbsp lime zest
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Place chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade and discard excess marinade.
- Grill or sear chicken for 5-6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes

- Marinate overnight for more intense flavor.
- Use chicken thighs for a juicier alternative.
