Description

Chili Lime Chicken is a bold and zesty dish featuring juicy chicken marinated in a spicy chili-lime mixture, then grilled or pan-seared to perfection. It’s quick, healthy, and packed with flavor.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tbsp lime zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.
  3. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade and discard excess marinade.
  4. Grill or sear chicken for 5-6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • Great served with rice, grilled veggies, or in tacos and salads.
  • Marinate overnight for more intense flavor.
  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier alternative.
